Hi all,
Just a quick reminder about our aspect ratio guidelines and acceptance policy. We're getting photos again where the height is all over the place. Some are very shallow and some are way too tall. Please keep the ratio at 3:2 or 4:3 or anything between those two. Any photos that are not between those two ratios will be rejected.

Secondly, we're getting a lot of photos of J-015, the new beautiful Dutch Air Force F-16 demo bird, and I just wanted to say that we're going to be pretty picky about it. The photo has to be almost perfect to be accepted as we already have quite a few shots in the database and I know more and more photos will be uploaded as the plane makes it's way through the air show circuit this summer. So please be aware.

Ray,

Sorry fella but I have to completely disagree with your opinion on J-015, its the display F16 for the RNAF (and will be for the next three years), very colourful and as you say very beautiful.

The point is that you have to expect that we will have loads of images of this bird uploaded, however many people have yet to shoot this bird myself included and the almost perfect comment/rule is not fair IMHO mate, you sound just like other well known upload sites shall we say :wink.

I agree if we are talking about a particular photographer who already has a few images of that jet from the same Airshow, then yes they are screened with a much more picky eye but your idea of applying that rule to everyone is not the right thing to do and extremely unfair to any photogs who have yet to shoot it.

I understand about server space and it all mounts up with the cost aspects etc mate but you have to expect many images of very colourful display jets like J-015 will be uploaded by a lot of photographers, especially when we are talking European photographers who make up the vast majority here.

If that rule was to apply you could say the same thing about all the very similar static shots from a couple of the recent big European show like Volkel,Zeltweg etc.

Applying rules like this will just drive people away bud and then you will not have to worry about server space/traffic

Just my thoughts

Cheers
John
