The Eagle is a tough bird as proven here. Watch this F-15 land on one wing after a mid-air collision.

The F-15 in question proves just how tough and survivable the fighter really is! There are very few aircraft in the world that can take such punishment and still make it home...to say nothing of the fact that there are probably even fewer pilots that can gain control of an aircraft so critically damaged. Well done to McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and to Captain Zivi Nedivi for regaining control and actually landing the plane!!

I agree plainly. There's to say that last generation's aircrafts (and let's collocate F15 among these) go towards the idea of representing a fighting wing, more than a ortodox aircraft. The fuselage itself is made to serve as a wing. Once you gain proper speed, u fly.
Another story is to fly at approach speed. |
